Six services, six different jobs
People call us with a wet floor, a stained ceiling or a musty closet, and the right service depends on what stage the problem is in. A pipe that is still running needs a different crew response than a wall that dried last month and now needs new drywall. This page lays out the six services we dispatch to Orem, UT and explains how to choose between them.
Every service here is carried out by licensed and insured restoration professionals sent through a single line that answers around the clock. Water damage is our main work. Mold remediation is secondary, and it usually follows a water problem that was never fully dried.
What each service is for
Water damage repair
The rebuild. Once the structure reads dry, water damage repair replaces ceilings, walls, insulation, flooring and cabinets. Choose it when the water is gone and you can see what is left to fix.
Water mitigation
The first three days. Water mitigation limits the spread by finding the source, starting drying equipment and measuring moisture in walls you cannot see through.
Water damage cleanup
The clearing out. Water damage cleanup removes soaked materials, sanitizes what remains and deals with contents. Choose it after the leak has been stopped.
Emergency water removal
The pumps. Emergency water removal is for standing water you can see, such as inches on a basement floor or a flooded laundry room.
Flood damage restoration
The outside water. Flood damage restoration handles runoff, snowmelt, river overflow, groundwater and sewage, all of which carry contamination.
Mold remediation
The containment job. Mold remediation removes mold growth under containment after the moisture source has been fixed.

|---|---|---|
| Water is pooled on the floor right now | Emergency water removal | Pumps and extraction units stop the soaking |
| A pipe, hose or fixture just failed and walls are wet | Water mitigation | Moisture mapping and drying setup in the first 72 hours |
| The leak is stopped and things are soaked or dirty | Water damage cleanup | Debris removal, sanitizing and contents handling |
| River, storm or snowmelt water entered the property | Flood damage restoration | Contaminated water needs removal and disinfecting |
| Everything is dry and you need new drywall or floors | Water damage repair | Reconstruction after readings are normal |

How the services connect on a real job
Most losses use more than one service, in a set order.
Pumps and extraction first
Standing water comes out with submersible pumps and extraction units, which is the emergency water removal stage.
Mitigation sets up the drying
Air movers, LGR dehumidifiers and moisture meters turn the job into a measured drying project.
Cleanup removes what cannot be saved
Wet carpet pad, soaked insulation and swollen drywall are cut out and bagged.
Repair rebuilds
Once readings are normal, new drywall, paint and flooring go in. Rebuilds may need permits, so ask the Orem Building Safety Division.
Mold remediation only if growth appears
This applies when materials stayed wet. It works under containment with negative air and HEPA air scrubbers.

Mitigation and cleanup overlap. Mitigation is about stopping progress and drying the structure, while cleanup is about removing and sanitizing. If the water is clean and recent, mitigation often covers most of it. If it came from a washer, a sump overflow or a sewer line, cleanup carries more of the work.
Emergency water removal and flood damage restoration also overlap. A burst pipe in a basement is typically removal. A basement that filled because snowmelt backed up through a window well is flood damage, because the water is outside water with contaminants in it.
Repair is often confused with mitigation, but they sit at opposite ends of the job. Do not close up walls until the drying is verified, since sealing wet drywall behind fresh paint hides a problem that returns as stains or mold.
What we do not do
Restoration is not waterproofing. If water keeps entering through a foundation, ask a waterproofing or foundation contractor. We also do not do roofing, and we do not diagnose health conditions or offer equipment rentals.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. Most jobs combine services, such as extraction, then drying, then cleanup. Describe the full situation on the call and the dispatcher will plan the order.
Water mitigation, emergency water removal, flood damage restoration and water damage cleanup are all emergency-intent services with 24/7 availability. Repair and mold remediation are planned work that normally follows.
No. The crew classifies it on site. Just tell the dispatcher where the water came from, whether it touched sewage and how long it has been there.
That depends on your policy and on how the damage happened. Sudden and accidental damage is often covered, while gradual leaks often are not. Ask your insurer.
